  My first experience with Venci's was excellent. I was greeted and served by Robert Venci who, when asked, claimed to have 50 years of experience. I believe it, my haircut was impeccable. The shop has a relaxed atmosphere and is staffed by three generations of the Venci family.

  I live in Oviedo right next to UCF so pretty much all of the barber shops around are hipster spots that do extra unnecessary stuff like back massages so I looked around for a shop that was just a basic barber shop. Venci's is that place. Unfortunately I did not get my hair cut there which is a shame because this is the exact type of place I was looking for for just a great basic hair cut.
  
  I came in as a walk in because it says that walk-ins are welcome right on their door. As soon as I walk in there are 4 barbers cutting people's hair, and a patron waiting to have theirs done. Immediately I sense that this is a place for regulars who know the staff, the staff knows them, and the regulars are happy with the shop, which is great. My type of place.
  
  What made it awkward was that none of them greeted me, they looked up and went back into their conversations with their client. I went ahead and grabbed a seat to wait until my turn. One of the barbers finish up so the guy waiting goes up. Five minutes later another finishes but goes to the back room for a few minutes and returns with a broom and sweeps up hair and returns to the back for another few minutes. While back there another two customers come in at different intervals. Both are greeted the same way I was, both sit down to wait. Once the guy comes out from the back he sees the most recent arrival and greets him and calls him up to his seat and gets on with his work.
  
  This is the point where I left. I get it if there are appointments that they are keeping, but I feel like in a place such as this where the staff and clientele know each other, that when a new face comes in that they could at least greet them and let them know that someone will be with them shortly after completing their appointments.
  
  I am giving them two stars because the work that they were doing looked great but unless you are the type to walk into a business, stop all current conversations to announce that you are there for a hair cut and you are a walk-in client just to get a feel for who will take you and a time range before you will be seen, then this isn't a place you'll want to go. If you expect for a business to greet you as a first impression, you might want to find another spot.
  
  Edit to respond to owner's comment - I was never asked if I was next. I looked at the guy who finished sweeping thinking that he might call me next. Our eyes met for a split second then he immediately looked at the new arrival and asked if he was read. Not once was I greeted or asked if I was next.
